My path into technology began shortly after high school when I attended a local community college while working part-time for a wireless Internet service provider (WISP) in Central Maine. In that role, I helped install internet services for businesses throughout the region. What quickly became apparent was that many small businesses needed far more than an internet connection—they needed trusted technology guidance.
Many of the organizations we worked with had no dedicated IT staff, no managed service provider, and often no reliable technology partner at all. Business owners were trying to manage computers, networks, software, and cybersecurity on their own while focusing on running their companies. Seeing those challenges firsthand sparked my interest in helping small businesses leverage technology more effectively.
After three and a half years with the WISP, I was unexpectedly laid off. Rather than viewing it as a setback, I saw it as an opportunity. In July 2004, I launched my own technology services company with the goal of providing dependable, local IT support to businesses throughout Maine.
Like many entrepreneurs, I started small. In the early years, I performed a combination of residential computer repair, consulting, and small-business support while building a client base. As the business grew, I recognized that my passion—and the greatest need in the market—was helping small businesses succeed through reliable technology. Over time, I transitioned away from residential services and focused exclusively on providing managed IT services for businesses.
Today, Snow Pond Technology Group serves organizations across Central and Southern Maine, delivering managed IT services, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365 management, compliance support, and technology consulting. My approach has always been centered on building long-term relationships, providing practical solutions, and serving as a trusted technology advisor rather than simply a repair technician.
Looking ahead, my goal is to continue growing the company into a team of five dedicated professionals who share the same commitment to responsive service, strong cybersecurity, and helping Maine businesses thrive through technology.
